AirPAP

AUTOCPAP — Automatic Positive Airway Pressure

CPAP that titrates itself between a minimum and maximum as the night’s needs change.

AUTOCPAP Waveform

How it works

  • A therapy mode that automatically adjusts the positive airway pressure between set minimum and maximum limits throughout the breathing cycle.
  • Every breath is started and ended spontaneously by the patient.
  • The therapy pressure is varied automatically within the set range according to the patient’s respiratory need.
  • No mandatory breaths or additional inspiratory pressure support are delivered by the device.
  • The device watches for apnea, hypopnea and snoring events and changes pressure according to its algorithm.
  • The applied positive pressure helps keep the upper airway open.

Physiological basis

It rests on the same basic physiology as CPAP but changes the pressure dynamically according to the severity of respiratory events. It aims to maintain airway patency while reducing exposure to unnecessarily high pressure.

Adjustable parameters 5

Start Pressure

Initial pressure applied at the start of therapy.

Maximum Pressure

Highest pressure the device may apply.

Minimum Pressure

Lowest pressure the device may apply.

Sigh

Applies 1.5× the inspiratory pressure once every 20 breaths.

RESFLEX

Comfort feature that eases the pressure at the start of exhalation.
